| Description | 1) Speak to an Examiner southeast of Varrock (north of the Scorpion Pit). He will give you an Unstamped Letter.
2) Give the Stamped Letter to the Curator at the Varrock Museum. He will Stamp it for you. 3) If you don't already have any boots or gloves, buy some and wear them for the rest of the quest. They can be purchased at the clothing store in town. 4) Give the Examiner the Stamped Certificate. 5) Follow the main road north until you come to two wooden walkways and then take the northeast one. Follow it until you reach the top of the hill. You will notice two bushes next to a large urn. Search the east bush and you will find a Rock Sample. 6) Grab the Panning Tray from the large tent at the bottom of the hill. 7) Head to the stream which is southeast of you, and use the Panning Tray on the Panning Points. A worker will interrupt and ask you for a Cup of Tea. Give him one. Keep Panning until you get a Rock Sample Covered With Mud and an Opal. Optionally you can just buy or bring an Opal. 8) Head Northwest to the dig area and pick pocket the Workman to receive a Rock Sample, Specimen Brush and 2 Ropes. You could optionally just bring along the rope. 9) Talk with three students, who are north of the Workman. Giving him the three Rock Samples result in the answers to the test, remember them. 10) Go back to the Examiner and take the exam. If you answer the test correctly he will give you a Certificate and a Trowel. 11) Speak with the students again to get the answers to the second exam. 12) Speak to the examiner to take the second exam. 13) Speak with the students again to take the third exam. 14) Speak with the examiner again to take the third exam. 15) Head to the northeast corner of the Dig Site and search the sacks. You will receive a Specimen Jar. 16) Use the Trowel on teh Soil to receive a Talisman of Zaros. 17) Give the Talisman of Zaros to the Archeological Expert and he will give you a scroll. 18) Give the Letter to the Workman at the Dig Site. He will grant passage to teh Shafts. Head to the northwest corner and then go south to Level 2 Digs until you find the area with a winch. 19) Operate the Winch, then use the rope with the Winch to lower yourself to the bottom. 20) Grab the Arcenia Root and then head back up top. 21) Search the specimen tray outside of the tents where you found the panning tray. You will find Charcoal. 22) Use the Mortar & Pestle on teh Charcoal. 23) Use the trowel on one of the barrels to the west. You will find an Empty Vial. 24) Give the Vial to the Archeological Expert and he will identify it as Nitroglycerin. 25) Search the bookshelf in the Examiner's Room. You will find a Book of Experimental Chemistry. Read it. OPTIONAL) Search the cupboard to find a Rock Pick. 26) Head to the northeast winch at the Dig Site. Give the scroll to the person guarding it. This allows passage down. Use the rope on teh winch and work your way down. 27) Speak with the Workman at the bottom. Tell him that you were invited, ask him where to find a chest key and then beg until he gives you one. 28) Go back to the tent where you got the Panning Tray and use the key on the locked chest. You will receive Unidentified Chemical Powder. 29) Take the Powder to the Archeological Expert to identify it as Ammonium Nitrate. 30) Go to the northwest winch at the dig site. 31) Create some explosive compound by: - Combining Ammonium Nitrate on Nitroglycerin - Use Ground Charcoal on the Result - Use Arcenia Root on the Result 32) Use the Explosive Compound at the bricks blocking the way along the south fork. Light it on fire by using your Tinderbox. This will clear the path. 33) Head straight inside and grab the Stone Tablet from the middle of the room. 34) Give the Stone Tablet to the Archeological Expert to complete the quest. |
