Run Energy Upgrade

The most significant recent changes to Runescape include a Run Energy Upgrade and PVP drop changes. There are also some seeweed changes which are noted below...
Last but not least, some more player ideas have made their way into the game. You can now weave seaweed nets, and carry much more seaweed than before. There is also a new herb called wergali. Wergali seeds can be obtained from Vinesweeper, your compost mound familiar, or from various monsters’ drops. Perhaps you’d like to use the herb to gain advantages in Fletching and Crafting? Well, now you can, as herbalists have discovered a couple of wergali potions that temporarily boost these skills. Other small changes concern the Strongholds of Security and of Player Safety, where only those in need of information will be quizzed, and the magic spell icons, which have had a graphical update.

Postbags and Dwarf Quests

There's a couple news bits today. First is the fourth Dev Diary on the New Dwarf Quest, and second is an all new Postbag from the Hedge. Here's some of the Dwarf Diary information...
Last time, I told you that we were planning to graphically rework all dwarf NPCs, but I didn't know whether or not this rework would go live with the new quest. Since then, it has been decided that the dwarf graphical rework will not be going live with the quest; the quest will go live with old-style dwarf graphics, and the dwarf NPC rework will happen later. This means that the Graphics team now have time to rework every dwarf in the game, without having to worry about getting them ready in time for this quest.

Fairy Dev Diary 2

Part 2 of the Fairy Area Improvement Development Diary is now available. Here's a text bite...
We want the fairy area to feel magical and organic. The fairies work with nature in an astral realm, so I want to distance the area from the rest of RuneScape so that the player feels that they have travelled a long way to get here. To help this we have introduced new types of fantastical plants and a slightly jade colour to the vegetation so that this does not feel like a typical RuneScape area. This is something we had tried to introduce with the previous ‘Blue Period’ rework, which, looking back, was far too garish. I feel the new, more subtle, colour scheme looks magical and otherworldly without being too obvious.

Offence System Update

Runescape has updated it's Offence System. The largest chance is that offences will expire after 12 months, and here's why...
The main reason we’ve done this is because we accept that many people learn from their previous mistakes, especially small offences committed long ago. This means that if you have an account that had offences on it, it’s entirely possible that they’ve been removed!
